Best Dressed: Oscars

Hello and Happy Monday sweet friends! Did you all have a good weekend? Saturday we had the BEST weather so my day was spent trying to soak up as much of it as I could. I am itching for Spring so bad. I want to just lay in the sun with a good book, pull out my wedges and sandals, and go on a picnic in the park. But here in the Midwest its warm and wonderful one day and the next it's snowing. #midwestproblems.

Did any of you catch the Oscars last night? I didn't stay awake for the entire show but I did watch the red carpet which happens to be my favorite part. Today I want to share with you my favorite looks from last nights Red Carpet!

Naomi Watts in Armani Prive'
Saoirse Ronan in Calvin Klein
Alicia Vikander in Louis Vuitton
She looks like a modern day Belle from Beauty and the Beast!!
Maria Menounos in Christian Siriano
Okay I LOVE Christian Siriano ever since his Project Runway days
#TeamStar
Tracey Edmonds in Lorena Sarbu
Cate Blanchett in Armani
So those are my favorite looks from last night. Who did you think was best dressed and who were some of your favorites? I'm excited for E! Fashion Police tonight to see what they all have to say about the red carpet.
Hope you all have the very best Monday!

Five on Friday!

Ohhh Friday, I am so happy to see you! It was a long time coming for this weekend. I feel like this week my brain has been going a hundred miles a minute and I need the weekend for it to slow down. Take some time to unwind and spend time outside smelling the roses.. Who am I kidding its still cold here so the only roses I am smelling are the ones at Trader Joes. :) This weekend I plan on catching up on some reading, trying a new recipe, and soaking in as much couch time as I can.  I am so excited to link up with A.Liz Adventures today for another Five on Friday. So grab your favorite cup of coffee or tea and lets jump right in!

One// I am going to try a new Pizza recipe this week and I am so excited!! I love me some pizza and I think this will be a fun new twist to the classic recipe. Stay tuned because if Its a winner I will be sharing it with all of you next week!!

Two// You guys have you heard this song? I think by now you all know how much I LOVE John Mayers Music, his Continuum album that came out a long time ago is Ah--Ma-Zing. Anyway I heard this song on the radio and I fell in love. James Bay has a very similar tone of John Mayer and I just love this song.

Three// I just got 2 new amazing products from my Sephora run the other day. I have been wanting to try these 2 for a long time and I can already say they were totally worth it! I love the Amika Un Done Texture Spary . And the Fresh Suger Rose, people I can't even begin to tell you how much I love this! I will do a full review a little later on the blog.

Four//Not to brag but I made the BEST homemade chicken noodle soup the other day. If you follow me on snap chat you saw me making it. It was so good and the right comfort food that I needed.

Five// Who else is excited for the Oscars this weekend!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I don't think there are enough exclamation points to show how excited I am!!!!!!!!!!!!! Out of all of the award shows the Oscars hands down is my most favorite. I love the red carpet and the songs. I can't wait to see what everyone is wearing and who wins!

Well thats it's for me sweet friends, What are your five this week? Anything fun planned for your weekend? I would love to hear about it in the comments below.

I hope you all have the very best weekend.

Pulled Pork Nacho's

It's Wednesday!! Halfway through the week and I couldn't be more excited for the weekend to be here. How is your week going? I hope to find you all in good spirits. I have been perusing pinterest to find new recipes because I have been in a rut when it comes to cooking. I LOVE to cook but I have been wanting to try new things and not knowing what to do.

Well that all change a few weeks ago when I was looking for Super Bowl recipes I came across a recipe for Pulled Pork Nachos. The name it self pulled me in I mean who doesn't love pulled pork and who doesn't love nachos. Putting them togther is a win win in my book. I made it a few days ago for my sister and some of her friends. Verdict in they LOVED it and made it a winner.

Here is the Recipe

Pulled Pork Nachos:

Pork Butt Roast
Tortilla Chips
1 Can Baked Beans
Shredded Cheese
BBQ Sauce

1. First thing is I cook my pork roast with salt and pepper in the crock pot on low for 6 hours till it is nice and tender and shreds with a fork.

2. I layer the tortilla chips on a tray so that the tray is covered with them. It's okay if the chips overlap.

3. Drain your can of bakes beans and then add those on top of your chips followed by the shredded pulled pork.

4. Drizzle the BBQ sauce onto the pulled pork and the chips. Use as much or as little as you would like.

5. Top with shredded cheese and bake in the oven @ 350 degree for 15-20 minutes or until the cheese is melted.

6. Top with shredded lettuce, salsa, and sour cream. My sister likes to add jalapeno's as well.

It's a easy yummy recipes that is sure to be a winner!

Happy Wednesday!

You are Loved

Good Morning beautiful people, I hope your having a great Monday so far. I want to share something that has been on my heart for some time now and since yesterday was Valentines day I see it fitting. Yesterday I spent my Valentines at church and then out with some of the best friends a person could ever ask for. Then I spent the evening with my nieces and we made popcorn and watched a movie. When I got home I couldn't help but feel this overwhelming sense of love. Even though I didn't have a valentine in the romantic sense my day was filled with love. I couldn't help but get a little teary eyed as I sat and realized how much I am loved not only by my family and friends but by a God that gave his only son for me.

I pulled out my journal and my bible and read Isaiah 43:4. Have you ever gotten those conversation hearts? Do you recall the one that says Be Mine. This bible verse states You Are Mine. You are God's. You are precious and honored in His sight because He Loves YOU. My heart was so overwhelmed in that instant. No matter where I am in life I have a God that calls me His. That looks at me and says I am precious, honored, and that He loves me. He loves me so much that he placed an amazing family and 2 beautiful nieces in my life. He loves me so much he brought me back to a church that is home and placed the most amazing new friends in my life. He loves me so much that he sent his only son to die for me so that I could be forgiven. His love is more then I deserve and I am overwhelmed by his goodness in my life.

No matter where you are in life single, married, divorced, widowed. God loves you so much. Never ever forget that. I know that life is hard, that loneliness creeps in and the enemy comes to steal your joy and hope. But please remember that you are precious and honored and that there is a God that loves you unconditionally with no strings attached, no reservation. He wants you to know how precious you are and how you are His.

I hope you feel encouraged today, that you feel Loved because you are. You are loved nad treasured by a God that died to know you. No matter what you have done or what you will do He still loves you and welcomes you in with open arms. I pray that today you feel that love.

Happy Monday sweet friends

Valentines Day Outfit Idea's

Happy Monday sweet friends! Do you all have a great weekend? I sure did. It was packed but oh so fun and I am so thankful it was filled with people I love. How was your Super Bowl Sunday? I had the best time with some great friends eating and watching football. I made my buffalo chicken dip  which is always a hit! I have to say I was cheering for the Panthers but am happy for the Bronco's and for Peyton Manning. Anyone else as disappointed in the commercials as I was? I was not impressed this year. But all in all it was a great time with great friends!!

Okay now into what today's post is all about!! With Valentines this week I wanted to share with you some cute outfit ideas for whatever you have planned this weekend. I love any excuse of reason to get dressed up and put together a cute outfit. Below are my top 3 choices for what I would wear on V-Day.

Valentines Day

If you click on the link it will take you back to my polyvore where you see where each piece is from. I love the fun and flirty pink dress that can be worn for dinner and night out dancing. The red blouse and jeans that are comfy and cute and would look awesome at the movies and dinner. And that skirt.... That skirt is just so beautiful but would be so fun to wear to a more formal dinner and show. I for one will probably be rocking the jeans and a cute top this year!
What are your plans for Valentines day! What would you wear? Hope you all had a great weekend and a Happy Monday!

February Goals / Bucket List

Good morning sweet friends and happy Wednesday! How is your week so far? We got a huge dumping of snow and although it is so pretty it took me an extra 45 minutes to get into work this morning :( I also had to be shoveled out of my drive way which at 5:15am is no fun. But Thank you Jesus I have a great job that let me be a little late this morning and I am warm and safe! I cannot tell you how happy I am that it is the middle of the week. I have so many fun things planned for this weekend and I am so pumped for the Super Bowl!! Who are you cheering for? I am a Green Bay Packer fan but will be cheering on the Carolina Panthers this Sunday because I mean Cam Newton!!

Can you believe February is already here and upon us? Where did January go??? I love the month of February. I love Valentines day and I love that spring is a little closer to us! I like to go through the months with a small set of goals rather then big resolutions that are just not attainable. Today I want to recap my January Goals and then share my goals for February!!

In January I wanted I was able to cross off a lot of what I wanted to accomplish. I re set my budget for this year, I meal planned and eat cleaner. But I didn't clean out and re organize my closet. I had every intention to get it done but just didn't get around to it. So I am adding that back into my February goals and will hopefully check that off my list!!

February Goals:

1. Clean out and Reorganize my Closet

I need to accomplish this and February is the perfect time to do it! I want to get rid of things that I haven't worn or that I just don't like anymore.

2. Read "For the Love" by Jen Hatmaker

I Have heard nothing but amazing things about this book and I want to read it and see for myself! Plus I want to fall back in Love with reading books. I never make time for it anymore and that is something I want to change in 2016!

3. Go Ice Skating

There is the cutest outdoor ice rink in the cities and I want to go skating there before the weather warms up even more.

4. Bake and decorate Valentines cookies

I want to try this  Sugar Cookie Recipe and decorate them for friends and family!

5. Start planning my Sister's baby shower

My younger sister is due with her baby boy on April 1st. I can't wait!!

I can't wait to recap these at the end of this month and see what else I can cross off!! What are some things you have planned for the Month of February?
