Be Brave

What does it mean to be Brave?  Brave; Showing no fear, having courage. Something I have struggled with for a long time is being brave, not showing fear, and having courage. You see I struggle with anxiety. I allow thoughts to creep into my mind and sometimes take over. This is something that I work on daily because I know that I should not fear. I want to be brave so desperately. I am so hard on myself when it comes to my anxiety.  I feel ashamed and stupid that I can't control my own thoughts and that I allow myself to give into my anxiety. When I feel my anxiety start to creep up I will pull myself away and breath. Take a quiet moment for myself.

It's in these quiet moments where God reminds me that he has not given me a spirit of fear, but of Love, Power, and a Sound Mind. He is with me always so I do not need to be afraid. He knows the plans He has for me and He will guide my every step if I allow Him to. He makes me brave. He gives me the courage when I need it, because of Him I have no fear.

Believe me it's not always easy, in fact it's really really hard. I have to fix my eyes on Jesus in order to work on making my anxiety better. It's a daily thing that I pray, Okay God I need you to give that peace that only you can give. I need you to be in control of my mind and to make me brave. He always reminds me of this. I am a daughter of the King who is NOT moved by this world. For my God is with me and goes before me. I DO NOT FEAR because I am His.

If anxiety is something that you struggle with I am not expert but I struggle with it. If you ever need a place to talk I am here and would love to encourage you.

Happy Monday Sweet Friends.

Five on Friday

Happy Friday!!!! Hello to the weekend and relaxing. I am so excited because right now I am writing to you from the cabin! I am super pumped to spend the next few days with the people I love to relax and have some fun! Being with my family is so special to me and my favorite. I love all the memories we make and the great time that we have. This week has been a weird one for me, I was feeling anxious about some silly stuff and feeling a little down. I know that God has created me for a purpose and this week I was just having a hard time seeing that calling he has on my life. I was able to sneek into my room for a little quiet time and to pray and it's in those still and quiet moments that His love for me is more then I will ever know and the he sees me and hears me and He knows my heart. I love those sweet reminders. Now onto my five for this week! As always we are linking up with A. Liz Adventures so here we go!!

One// This week in those quiet moments I have been playing this song on repeat. Each year I pick out a word or a Bible verse that I want to live out, but this year I chose this song. I want to know God's heart more then ever.

Two// This super cute new nail polish that I am in love with. OPI's Tickle My Francy! Can this name be any CUTER!

Three// Throwing back to a little Mary-Kate and Ashley with my roommates and watching Holiday in the Sun. I forgot how cheesy these movies are but my inner 6th grade self LOVED them!!

Four// Anybody love target as much as I do? Well right now they are killing it with their home goods and decor. I'm obsessing over this  bedding right now! I love the softness and cream color. Thinking maybe it's time to redo my bedroom! What do you think? :)

Five// Who watched the Bachelore this week? Okay can we talk about how sweet Amanda is and how cute it was that Ben made hair clips with her for her daughters. I am already loving this season and last week I shared my top 3 girls and after this week I am sticking with them! Also have you read Sheaffer's  blog? I LOVE LOVE LOVE it and each week she gives the BEST Bachelore recaps. If you haven't read them you must!!

What are your plans for this weekend? Do you have anything fun planned!!

Best Dressed: Golden Globes 2016

Monday Funday!!!?? Is that a thing? I think I'm going to make it a thing at least for today. Hello sweet friends, did you all have a great relaxing weekend? I know I did. I ran some errands, watched a movie, and just stayed in my warm and cozy home. It was pretty cold here so staying cozy was on the top of my list this weekend. Do you know what else was on the top of my list this weekend...... The GOLDEN GLOBES!!! I love award season, I love the red carpet, the glitz and the glamour. I was so excited to see what was on the red carpets last night. now I have to be honest.... I was a little disappointed, everyone seemed so bland this year with their outfit choices. However 3 stood out to me and I am so excited to share them with you!!

First up, Lily James can we just talk about how beautiful she is for a moment. I mean come on can she be anymore stunning. I love the flow that this dress brings and the one shoulder with the cut out gives it a little something extra. I think the color and the fit was stunning on her and I think she was a top choice for best dressed.

Olivie Wilde, I think this color is beyond perfect for her. I love the way it fits her and the deep V makes it super sophisticated and sexy. Also the sequin gives it that little extra glamour.  I love love love this color and think she killed it on the red carpet last night.

Corrine Foxx, Okay can we just talk about Miss Golden Globe she looked so angelic, I am 100% obsessed with this dress. I think that it was the perfect way to go for her. It makes her look so sophisticated and grown up. She seriously looks like an angel. I thought she was just gorgeous last night!

So there you have it, my top picks for this year! Did you watch the golden globes this year? Who was your favorite? I can't wait for Oscars, those are my most favorite!! Have a happy Monday!!

January To Do List:

Good Morning sweet friends! How is your week going so far? Mine has been a little rough if I can be honest. The week after the Holidays is always one that I am not ready for, getting back into regular life schedule and coming down from the excitement is making me want to take a nap HA! But anywho I am loving this new year so far so today I wanted to share with you my goals/ to do list for the month of January. Last week I shared my goals and resolutions for the year here but after looking at it I decided that I wanted to break things down into goal list's for each month. A lot of us make these big resolutions and goals for the new year but by the end of January we give up. So I am going to break them up into small attainable goals each month!

January To Do List:

1. Re-evaluate my budget and track my spending.
After the holidays I think we all could benefit from taking a look at our budget and re evaluate where money is going! I want to get smarter about saving more money and this month I plan to track all my spending and start saving more this year.

2. Clean out and reorganize my closet
Oh heavens to Betsy, I haven't done this in a long loooonnnnngggg time. I know that I have things in my closet that I haven't worn in a while so I need to buckle down and clean!

3. Get better at meal planning
I need to do this. I have to do this to keep myself sane. I do not want to worry about what I making for dinner each day. Plus I think it will help with my spending on food and eating out. I sometimes just want to grab Subway on my way home because I have nothing planned. It also will help me with #4 below

4. Eat Cleaner
I have talked about cleaner eating on here and I want to be smart about the things I am putting into my body. So this month is all about making smarter choices and making cleaner meal choices.

Do you like to keep New Years resolutions? Or do you break them down into goals? I would love to hear what they are! Also if you have any tips or tricks that would help me with my goals this month please let me know!!

Cinnamon Roll French Toast Bake

Good Morning sweet friends, Did you all have a great New Year? I sure did, we kept it pretty low key this year. I made dinner at home and we watched movies and just relaxed. Honestly after the craziness of the holidays this year it was so nice to just be home and be a little lazy!

New years day we woke up and had brunch at home. I tried out this new recipe and it was
AH-MA-ZING! Definitely a new favorite that I will keep in my recipe book.

Cinnamon Roll French Toast Bake:

2 Cinnamon rolls in the pop open containers (I used Pillsbury)

6 Eggs

1/2 Cup Milk

2 Tsp Vanilla Extract

2 Tsp Cinnamon

1 Cup Maple Syrup

3 Tsp Melted butter

1. First Step is to open the cinnamon rolls and cut them into smaller pieces also this is the best time to set the frosting cans that come in the container aside. (we will save those for later!)

2. Melt the butter and pour into the baking dish, then place your cut up cinnamon rolls into the dish. make sure the bottom of the pan is completely covered.

3. In a large mixing bowl wisk togther the eggs, milk, cinnamon, and vanilla. Then pour the mixture over the cinnamon roll pieces.

4. Lastly pour 1 cup of maple syrup on top and place it in the oven at 375 degrees for 25 minutes.

4. Once its done take it out of the oven and drizzle the frosting from the cinnamon rolls you set aside earlier over top.

5. Lastly Enjoy!!!

Seriously you guys this is so good. Not healthy at all but so so soooooo good! I highly recommend it. It would also be great to make if you need to feed a crowd!
