Cinnamon Honey Butter

Friends! One of the best things I made over the Thanksgiving Holiday was Cinnamon Honey Butter. Have you ever made an infused butter? This was my first time but I can tell you it will not be my last. I have been scouring pinterest for other recipes to try! This is SO easy to make and it taste's DELICIOUS! Also this pairs so well with THIS bread recipe.

Cinnamon Honey Butter:

1/4 cup Powder Sugar

1/4 cup Honey

2 Sticks of Butter

1 Teaspoon of Cinnamon

Let your Butter sit until it reaches room temperature.

Add your Butter, Honey, Powdered Sugar, and Cinnamon to a bowl and mix until evenly combined.

Refrigerate for 4 hours.

Remove from the fridge 30 minutes before serving!

I hope you enjoy this as much as we did!

Wild Rice Soup

Cold Winter nights call for hot soup. As a Midwest girl when those temps start to drop I find myself making more soups and stews. One if my favorites is Chicken Wild Rice Soup. I love the how easy this is to make since its all done in the crock pot. I throw everything in before  I leave for work and when I get home it just needs a few last minute touches and its ready to go!

Wild Rice Soup:

3 Stalks of Celery Chopped

1 Large Onion Chopped

4 Carrot Sticks Chopped

1 Cup of Wild Rice

2 Chicken Breasts

6 Cups of Chicken Broth

1/2 Cup of Butter

3/4 Cup of Flour

2 Cups Milk

1 Teaspoon of Dried Sage

1 Teaspoon of Thyme

Salt and Pepper to Taste

In your Crock Pot place your chicken, wild rice, celery, carrots, onion, and herbs. Pour in your  chicken stock and cook on low for 6-8 hours or 3-4 on high.

Once your soup is cooked remove the chicken and shred then add it back into your crock pot.

Take your butter and melt it in a pot, once melted add in your flour and whisk together. Slowly start to add in your milk until it is thick.

Pour your mild, butter, and flour mixture into the crock pot and stir it together. Let this cook another 30 minutes and enjoy!

This pairs so well with this bread.

Enjoy!

Hello Sweet friends! Monday's post is brought to you by a weekend of baking! I love to cook. It's a fun way to be creative and bring people together! This last weekend I had my nieces over and we decided to bake up a treat! With Fall here apples are in season and they are a sweet treat when you add a little cinnamon! My apple cake bars and cream cheese icing are the perfect treat for a crisp fall night!

Apple Spice Cake:

2 & 1/4 cups all-purpose flour

1 & 1/2 teaspoons baking powder

1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

1/2 teaspoon salt

1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg

1/4 teaspoon ground allspice

3/4 cup unsalted butter, softened

1 cup packed  brown sugar

1/2 cup granulated sugar

3 large eggs

1 tablespoon of  vanilla extract

1 cup milk

2  apples, finely chopped

Pre heat your oven to 350 degrees

1. Whisk together the flour, baking powder, cinnamon, salt, nutmeg, and allspice. Set aside.

2. Using an electric mixer on medium speed, beat the butter, brown sugar, and sugar until light and fluffy.
3. Add the eggs, one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Mix in the vanilla.

4. Add the flour in 3 portions, alternating with 2 portions of milk. Mix just until combined. Stir in the apples.

5. Pour batter into a 9 x 13 pan and smooth out.

6. Bake 25 to 30 minutes, or until a pick inserted into the center comes out clean

7. Let it the cake completely cool before you frost!

Cream Cheese Icing:

Dutch Oven No Knead Bread

Hello Sweet Friends! Today we have another delicious recipe to share with you! Soups and Chili's  are some of my favorite things to make when the air turns crisp and cool. And what is better then a thick slice of crusty bread to dip in said soup and chili! Now this recipe seems to be everywhere and after making it I totally understand why. This bread is SOOOOO GOOOD and SO EASY to make! I am sharing the recipe I found from one of my favorite and fellow Minnesota Blogger Lindsay from Pinch Of Yum. I love her blog and her photography! So here we go with the best bread recipe!

No Knead Dutch Oven Bread:

3 Cups Flour

1 1/2 teaspoons of Salt

1/2 teaspoon of instant yeast

1 1/2 cups room temperature water

In a large bowl mix together the flour, salt, and yeast. Slowly add in your water until the dough is chunky. If you need to add more water add a few tablespoons of water at a time. You just want the dough to be mixed.

Place plastic wrap over the bowl and let your bread rest for 12-18 hours. Overnight if possible. This is very important.

In the morning set your oven to 450 degrees. Place your dutch oven in the oven while it's heating up so that the pan is hot.

When the oven in heated take your dutch oven out and place a little flour in the bottom to help the bread not to stick.

Then take some flour and place a little on your hands and the counter.

Remove the plastic wrap and remove dough.

Form into small ball shape and place it in your dutch oven.

Place the lid on and cook in the oven for 30 minutes.

Then remove the lid and let it cook another 15 minutes so that the outside gets nice and crusty brown!

Remove from over and let cool completely before slicing.

Slice and enjoy!

Isn't this the MOST BEAUTIFUL bread you have ever seen?!?!?!?! It's also delicious and the perfect pair with a big bowl of soup! This bread was seriously so good! I hope you all enjoy it as much as we did!

September Goals

Hello sweet friends!! Happy September 1st. Today marks the first day of my Favorite time of year! FALL. Bring me all the leaves, blankets, sweaters, boots, and pumpkins! I love love love fall. September through December are my favorite months out of the whole year! I can't believe we are already here but I am so ready for this sweet season. I hope you all are having a great week! This week has been a long one, my heart is hurting for our friends in Texas. If you can donate in anyway please do! You can donate to the Red Cross here. Also this article is a great resource to find a place to donate. Lets be the hands and feet of Jesus and help those that need it during this time.

Now onto today's post: Its a new month which means it's time for new goals! I love setting monthly goals to help achieve and hold my self accountable!

1. Continue Training for 5K- In case you missed it, I am running my first 5K on Thanksgiving with my sweet family! I am so excited but also really nervous and want to make sure that I am prepared and ready for this race!

2. Read my Bible EVERY day- I have a confession to make. This last month I haven't made time to do my devotions the way I want them. And I felt it. I missed this time with my Heavenly Father and it took a toll on me. This month I HAVE to spend time in the word everyday.

3. Give this blog a face lift.- Over the last 2 years I have LOVED blogging and sharing life with you! This blog means the world to me and I love working on it. With that being said I want to see where this can take me! I want to give it all I have and I want to spend a little more time and energy to see what could happen. I also think that after 2 years we deserve a little face lift! I am still working with a few designers to find the right look and I can't wait to share it with you!

There you go! Goals for the first month of fall! What are some goals you have for September!

Fall Favorites 2017

Hello sweet friends! I hope you all had a great weekend! Monday is here and so starts another week. Before we jump into today's post I want to take a minute to say friends in Texas we are praying for you, you are in my thoughts and my prayers. Friends if you are able text Harvey to 90999. This donates $10 to the Red Cross to continue helping our friends in Texas.

Now onto today's post! With September practically here I thought I would continue to share about my love for this glorious season. You see to me there is nothing better then a crisp fall day. September-December is my absolute  favorite. Today I want to share some fun fall outfits with you. I love how both of these are perfect for a great fall day. And both looks can mix and match with other pieces in your wardrobe. One this I think everyone needs is a classic fall tote. This Madewell transport tote is the perfect color and the leather makes this a bag you will love and treasure for the rest of your life. A bag like this will last a lifetime and only get better with age. If you invest in anything this fall make it a classic leather bag.
