Sweater Weather Tag

Can you believe this week is Halloween and November is practically at our door!! I love fall and all it's glory but living in the Midwest means that come November our fall weather is over and winter is coming. I am not quite ready to let go of fall just yet. So when I was reading one of my favorite blogs this week I saw Gracie had shared her fall favorites with the Sweater Weather Tag and I loved it so I wanted to share mine with you!

SWEATER WEATHER TAG

FAVORITE CANDLE SCENT - Definitely Autumn from Bath and Body Works. This scent captures  the essence of fall. I have a habit of  buying an extra one just to have in case I want a fall scent in the middle of march! It just smells like fall to me.

COFFEE, TEA, OR HOT COCOA - Well it's really Hot Apple Cider, but if I have to choose from these 3 I would pick Coffee with Pumpkin spice creamer!!

BEST FALL MEMORY - I would say going to the apple orchards. I love the atmosphere and the time with my friends and family. Every year we make a big trip out of it and its just so fun. I also love the yummy treats you can get at the orchards!! :)

MAKEUP: WINGED LINER OR DARK LIPS - Definitely Dark Lip, NYX Copenhagen to be specific! It's my most favorite and at $5.99 its a steal!

HALLOWEEN COSTUME - Last year I was the tooth fairy and I absolutely LOVED that costume

HATS OR SCARVES - Scarves, hands down. I love them and wear them all the time.

MOST WORN SWEATER - This Sweater from Target is the best purchase I made this season. The color goes with everything and I love the subtle plaid print.

FAVORITE FALL POLISH - Essies Swing Velvet it's the perfect deep red with a hint of plum!

JEANS OR LEGGINGS - Jeans, straight leg

BOOTS OR UGGS - I Love my UGGS, but I want to get a pair of L.L. Bean Boots

PUMPKIN SPICE OR APPLE CINNAMON -  PUMPKIN SPICE! 100% I love me some pumpkin spice!

FAVORITE FALL MOVIE -  Hocus Pocus

What are some of your favorite things about fall? Do the sweater weather tag below and let me know yours!

Top 5: Beauty Products

Ya'll I have a confession to make.... I may be (totally guilty) a beauty product junkie. I'm pretty sure they know me personal at my local Ulta and Sephora. I love make up, skin care, hair products, nail polish. You name it I love it! I had a hard time narrowing down this list to just 5 but I managed to so here goes!

1. Clarisonic : I know, I know this is old news but people if you dont have one save up and get one! I cannot tell you how much I love this. This was a game changer for me with my skin. It helps withmy breakouts, keeps my skin soft, and everytime I use it my skin feels so refreshed.

2. Tarte Amazonian Clay Airbrush Foundation: This foundation is the best. It is full coverage but its not heavy. You can wear it light or build it. It helps my skin to feel fresh and not fully made up. The color that I wear is Fair Honey.

3. Oribe Dry Texturizing Spray: I got this in my October birch box and I LOVE it. This helps my fine hair get the boost it needs. A few spritz of this and my hair goes from drab to fab.

4. NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream: I'm pretty sure I have mentioned this awesome lip cream in a post before, but I cannot get enough. This is the perfect lip cream for a fun night out on the town or a nice accent for everyday make-up. It stays all day truly and it makes my lips feel so soft. And at only $6 you cannot go wrong.

5. Stila All Day Water Proof Eyeliner: This liquid liner is the only eyeliner I will use. It stays all day and does not run. I also love the way you can use a little for your everyday makeup or you can angle the brush to get a dramtic eye for fun nights out.

As an added bonus I have to share this with you! Stilas Huge Extreme Lash Mascara,I only just got this in my October birch box but the minute I used it I FELL IN LOVE. I picked up a tube of it at Sephora right away and have not looked back. My lashes are kinda short and not very full but a few swipes of this and I am telling you my lashes are full, thick, and a whole lot bigger then they were before. I love the way they make my eyes pop now. Seriously go grab a tube, you will not regret it.

What are your top 5 beauty must haves?

Five on Friday

It's Friday and you know what that means time to link up with A. Liz Adventures for another Five on Friday. This week has been a great one and I know that this weekend will be relaxing and fun. So lets jump right in..

One// My sister sent me this picture this week and seriously I laughed so hard. I hope it brings a smile to you as well.

Two// I got to have dinner with one of my best friends last weekend. I haven't seen her since her wedding back in September. I missed her and was so happy we got to spend some time together. Here we are at one of the yummiest resturants ever! Cadillac Ranch

Three// My littlest sister is pregnant and this last week so found out she is having a baby BOY. I am over the moon excited for this little buddy to join our family in April.

Four// This last week I have trying to spend as much time as I possibly can outside. When you live in the Midwest you have to grab all the chances you can before the snow and cold come in! Here are a few pictures from my walks.

Five// During my Devotions this week I was reminded that despite what ever I am going through God is with me. He is always there to walk beside me and to be my comfort. I hope this quote below encourages you as much as it encouraged me. That no matter what you are facing you are not alone.

Well there you have it, my five from this week. Do you have any fun plans for your weekend? I would love to hear from you! I cannot wait to get home tonight and watch a good movie! I hope you have a great weekend!

Inspiration Volume II

I love holidays, like probably more then most people. There is something so fun about decorating your house, making a bucket list, spending time with your family, and eating yummy food. I love to soak in as much as I can with each season and holiday.

This year I get to host my family for Thanksgiving. This is my first time and I am SO EXCITED.Thanksgiving is one of my most favorite holidays. It only comes second to Christmas (just wait till you see how crazy I can get with Christmas!) Thanksgiving is one of those holidays that makes me feel warm and snuggly. I love being with Family, having yummy food, and watching Football. My boys are playing this year on Thanksgiving day (GO PACK GO!) so I am extra pumped!  I know Halloween is still not here and Thanksgiving is about a month away, but I wanted to share some pins and ideas I have been saving for Thanksgiving at my house this year! You can follow along with my holidays pins here!

These are super cute, I would love to do something like this on my buffet table.

I love this centerpiece its simple yet super elegant and I want to recreate it on my table!

Have any of you seen these floating around Pinterest? They are called Thankful trees. I love the concept and idea behind them. Each person at your table writes down one thing they are thankful for and places it on the tree. Then you go around and say what is written on the leaf.  I think this is such an awesome idea and a great to be used for a centerpiece.

I also think my Chalkboard will need to be updated for Thanksgiving and I am loving this one!

Do you have any fun ideas for your Thanksgiving! I would love to hear about them, drop me a comment below and share with me your inspirations for the Holidays!

Teriyaki Stir Fry

Happy Monday Friends, I hope you all had a great weekend! Today I want to share with you a yummy recipe that I make frequently at our house! We love chinese food but it can be full of sodium. So I try to make my own "chinese takeout" when we are craving it! This recipe is so simply and easy and perfect for a quick weeknight meal.

Ingrediants:

- 1 lb of ground turkey or chicken. ( we use turkey)
- Teriyaki sauce ( You can find this at any grocery store)
-any veggies you want!: we use edamame, green beans, and broccoli.
- salt and pepper to taste
- brown rice

1. First ground your turkey or chicken in a pan on medium heat.

2. Oncce that is done we start to cook our Rice, just follow the directions on the box!

3. Add in a little bit of your teriyaki sauce about 2 tablespoons

4. Next mix in your veggies, and add  2 more tablesppons of sauce. You want your meat and veggies coated with sauce but not drowning in it. I usually just watch and if I think it needs a little more I add in a tablespoon or until I think its enough.

Then serve with your brown rice and enjoy! See its that simply and so yummy!!

Fall Home Tour

Happy Wednesday! Today I want to share parts of my home with you! I love it when blogs take you into there home for a tour. I haven't gotten my house all decorated just yet for a full home tour but I wanted to share some of my fall decor. I love LOVE decorating for the holidays and adding a special touch for the different seasons. So today I am going to share with you my dinning room and living room set up! We live in an older home but luckily we have a pretty open floor plan which I love, the living room and dinning room are a big open space.

When I decorate I love to find a little theme or something that is constant. This year I had a little bit of a pumpkin theme.

I also have fallen in love with chalkboards so I knew I wanted to find a cute quote to adorn this chalkboard on my Buffett table. In the living room I wanted to keep it a little more simple.

I added a grey throw to bring in some warmer colors. I found some cute throw pillows at target that I would love to get to spice this space up a little more! Sorry for the blurry candle pic. It's one of my favorites from Bath and Body Works.

So there is a sneak peak into my cozy little home. I hope once I get a few more things decorated I can give you a full house tour!

Your Story Matters

Happy Monday friends! As many of you know this weekend I had the privilege to attend the Thrive Conference with my best friend. It was a great weekend of Jesus, shopping, and girl talk. Friday morning my best friend and I jumped in the car with Starbucks in hand and took off on our road trip. We took our time driving up stopping at the outlet malls for a little retail therapy. We had lunch then jumped back into the car to continue our drive to our hotel and the conference.

The theme for this weekend was "Your Story Matters". We talked about countless women in the bible that are examples of how there story impacted so many, but I think sometimes in this day and age we think that our story is so small and insignificant. That our lives can't possibly change an entire nation like Esther's did. That our choices and our decisions can't waver a decision like Abigail's.

Over the last year my life and many many people's lives around me have been in constant change and chaos. Everything we thought was stable was flipped over and our surroundings shattered. Now I don't know about you but I am NOT a fan of change. Especially when something rocks my world in such a dramatic fashion that everything I've known is gone in an instant. But as I have been in the middle of this I feel God tugging at my heart reminding me that His plan and His purpose will be fulfilled and that even in the midst of uncertainty He is here with me. That this change is allowing Him to show me new gifts that He wants me to use and unveiling more of His perfect plan for me.

When I made the choice to attend this conference I knew it was called "Thrive". What I didn't realize, until closer, that it was about our story and how it matters. I have been journaling my whole life and as I look back at previous entries I can see that my story does matter and that God has already fulfilled some of the desires and dreams of my heart. My prayer over this weekend was that God would continue to pour out His spirit on me and that I would completely humble myself before Him so I can live out the calling He has placed on my life fully.

I don't know any of your stories, but I do want you to know that God sees you and He knows your hurts. He sees your dreams and knows your desires. He has amazing plans for you and your story DOES matter. That one day you will look back and see the purpose and the plan that unfolded. If there is anything I can be praying for you about please know that I would love to storm the gates of heaven for you because you and your story matter.

Inspiration

Last night I was flipping through Pinterest and I could help but be inspired. Home Decor is something that I love, my style is consistantly evolving and changing but I wanted to share with you some pieces that have inspired me and that I am loving right now!

This Dresser, Please come into my life. I love the rustic shabby chic that is brings. I would love to use this as a buffet table in a smaller dinning room or as an entry table.

This chair is so cozy to me! I am currently looking for a similar one for my living room.

I want to bake and cook in this kitchen!

On my fall bucket list a few post's back I talked about wanting to host a "Friendsgiving" and this table is what I would want my table to look like. I love the colors and the use of natural elements.

What are some designs that inspire you? I'd love to hear about them in the comments below! You can follow me on Pinterest here

Buffalo Chicken Dip

Happy Monday friends! It's the start of a new week and I would love to share a new recipe with you! Any packers fans out there catch the game yesterday? I live in a house divided I am a Packers fan but my sister is a Vikings fan, so I had to watch the Vikings game too.  In my house Sundays are for Church, Food, and Football!! When we watch the games I like to snack anybody with me?! So for easy game day food I like to pull this recipe out. My friend Holly shared it with me a few years ago it's so easy and has quickly become a go to for Sunday afternoon games.

Buffalo Chicken Dip:

 2- Cans of Chicken

1- Block of Cream Cheese

2 Cups- Shredded Cheese

1/2 Cup- Ranch Dressing

 1/2 Cup -Bleu Cheese Dressing

1/4 Cup- Franks Red Hot Sauce

Place everything in the crock pot on high and mix it up, let is sit until it gets melty and creamy, then turn the crock pot to low or keep warm and enjoy!

Seriously its that simply! You can modify this to fit your taste, use more hot sauce for more of a kick or use less if you want a milder flavor. I like to serve it with crackers, celery, and carrots sticks. Its a great game day snack that we keep coming back too!

What are some of your favorite game day treats?
